How Multi-Desktop helps you stay organised

If you’ve never used multiple desktops before, you have no idea what you’ve been missing out on! Allow us to explain this quick and simple trick to add multiple desktops to your PC with ease (it will honestly change your life).

What are the benefits?

Before we get into how you add more, you’re probably wondering why you need to. Well, if you’re working on multiple projects it can be a real game-changer. Having multiple programmes and documents open at one time can make your work feel cluttered and a bit overwhelming. However, by adding another desktop (or 5!) you can have a different one for each project.

Why would you use it?

If you’re a serial multitasker then multiple desktops is a great way to keep your work organised.

Imagine this – You’re sitting at your computer, working on a project with multiple files and websites open. All of a sudden, Sarah comes along asking to see how you’re getting on with another project. Rather than having to open up more files, plus confusing Sarah with the multitude of files already open, you simply click a couple of buttons and open up a new desktop. All the files and websites you had open from your other project are saved on the previous desktop and your new desktop is free to show Sarah the project she’s after. That way you don’t ever need to worry about closing down any programmes you’re working on when switching between projects!

How do you add another desktop?

All you need to do is click on Task View and then choose ‘+new desktop’ in the top left corner, it’s that simple! (see below)

How many can you add?

As many as you want – it’s completely unlimited!

How do you switch desktops?

All you need to do is go back onto Task View and choose between your desktops at the top of the page.

Tip – To access Task Viewer you can also just click the windows button and the tab key on your keyboard.
