Why We Started

Built to protect every business

When we founded Alcom IT in 1998, our mission was clear - to build a team that could provide safe and secure IT services to small businesses. That mission became even more urgent when we witnessed first-hand the devastation a cyber attack could cause.

One of our earliest clients was hit by a ransomware attack and faced a demand of $100,000 in bitcoin to recover their encrypted data - as is typical for these attacks, the ransom itself was demanded in US dollars rather than sterling. That incident shaped everything about the way we operate - proactive, security-first, and fiercely committed to making sure no business we look after ever falls into the same trap.
