Keeping your password fresh is one of the simplest ways to keep your account secure. Here's how to update your Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) password in three quick steps.
We recommend changing your password at least every six months. It only takes a couple of minutes, and it's one of the easiest habits to build into keeping your business secure. Follow the three steps below and you'll be done in no time.
Come up with a new, secure password that mixes uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and special characters. A memorable phrase is often easier to remember than a random string, and just as strong.
Before you use it, paste your password into a strength checker and make sure it would take at least a year to crack. If it falls short, add a little more length or complexity and try again.
Once you're happy with your new password, sign in to your Microsoft account and set it. You'll need to enter your current password first, then your new one twice to confirm.
