Windows 11 is out today! But wait…

Windows 11 is out today and if you’re excited as we are, we’re sure you can’t wait to install it! However, before you do that, make sure your computer is suitable to handle it.

How can I tell my computer is suitable?

The best way to see if your computer is suitable for Windows 11 is to see if it has TPM 2.0. You’re probably thinking ‘what on earth is TPM 2.0?!’ and that’s a good question! It means Trusted Platform Module 2.0, which is a computer chip that holds a code that allows Windows 11 to run.

There is a quick and simple way for you to see if your computer has it or not. All you need to do is click Start > Search for ‘Device Manager’ > Security Devices. See below for a quick tutorial or if you need help finding it just call us on 03333 055 055 and we’ll help you out.

What if I don’t have TPM 2.0?

So, if you don’t have Trusted Platform Module 2.0 don’t worry just yet! It might be as simple as the fact that you have it disabled. However, this is a bit more complicated to check so just give us a call on 03333 055 055 and we’ll be able to check for you.

What are the benefits of Windows 11?

We obviously haven’t had the chance to try Windows 11 for ourselves just yet but Microsoft has released a bunch of new features and improvements that they are adding, which we can tell you about:

Enhanced desktop display – It will have a fresh makeover with a cleaner design. A centered start menu, rounded corners, and a variety of transparencies to make the desktop look like glass are just a few adjustments that will make the display look much more elegant.

Upgrade for Microsoft Teams – Team is much more accessible in Windows 11 as you no longer need to open it fully to chat with your team! You can use a single click on Microsoft Teams on the taskbar and it will open a smaller window where you can talk without needing to leave the page you’re working on.

Widgets – Widgets are back meaning you can access the information you need easier and faster.

And much more – But we’ll let you know once we’ve given it a go ourselves!

Can I still use Windows 10?

Yes – Windows 10 will still be available and Microsoft will support it with updates through to October 2025!

If you’re still wondering whether you should install Windows 11 or not then give us a call on 03333 055 055 and one of our experts will be able to offer some advice!
